just wondering.....what are the exact steps into taking out the ecotec engine. i've been considering it just to clean the hell out of the engine bay. i used to go muddin in my sunfire(like an idiot) and now since i'm about to lower it and dress it up some, i want to get all the mud thats still in the engine bay out. i'll have the time to do it all in about a lil over a month. i just posted this same question in the photos and media forum and i'm thinking that might have beent the wrong one. thanks for any info. and sorry bout the mix up.

GM engine shampoo and a high pressure hose..... why taking the engine out for cleaning some mud???

Honestly, for cleaning purposes, I would say you are thinking waaayyyyy overboard.
Since you're asking the question, I have to assume you've never pulled an engine before and that you probably do not own an engine hoist.

You will most likely find it less frustrating, and less expensive, to pay a professional detailer for a steam cleaning.

a high pressure hose i don't think will get everything. the mud kinda stained the paint job so its gonna take some elbow grease. i've gotten what i can by hand. i'm also gonna be installing upper and lower motor mounts and header with piping, and lowering it.might as well go ahead and do everything all at once.
