Help!!!! Cooling problem.

Ok...I have been having problems with my car over heating.....The car has a new water pump, thermostat, new radiator, and i just replaced the coolant temperature sensor....problem is ...the car still over heats are you drive it for 20-40 minutes....I noticed one thing....my fan isn't kicking on when the motor is around 180 degrees like it should which is why i replaced the sensor....all of the relays and fuses related to this are good.......and for more info...the cooling fan normally kicks on when the car is still rather cold...so it's kind of backwards...lol....any advice besides junk it hahaha

Does the fan come on when you put on your A/C?

Are you sure it's coming on at all, like when it's cold as you said?

fan come on around 215-220 , not 180

if the fan doesnt come on with the a/c then you might have a bad fan motor

but this is a maintenence question not performance

There's the door, please leave. Don't forget to take your ignorant remarks with you, and don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya!
He also has a sunfire...otherwise wouldn't he be on hondatech? and I'll have you know his accord is a very smooth non ricey ride, one of my favorite cars on the road locally

now...he don't have an air baffle, which is what i think is goin on cuz in park the fan comes on around 130 and just stays on...soon as he drives...it shuts off....till he puts it in park, and then the fan comes on. It does not overheat just idling, and since the fan works, the coolant temp sensor is new, radiator is new, thermostat and water pump is new, and all new coolant...we're running out of options haha. At 65 the engine cools back down so I think its an air flow problem...agree? (btw, I helped him put this car together)

Sounds like maybe an airflow problem, or possibly some wiring with the circuit from the temp sensor -> PCM..etc. When it does get hot, is the fan on? If the fan's on when it's hot in "D", then i'd say airflow.
If not, there's something odd with the PCM or circuit.

Well....more info on this...last night I let the car idle for 30 minutes...the fan was almost on the entire time it was idling and the temperature gauge was right where it was supposed to be......after the 30 minutes i decide to drive the car....drive it up the road not even a 1/4 mile and i notice the fan shuts off.......makes no sense....shift the car into park....fan comes back on.....i repeated this process a few times......This problems has me totally confused!!!!

well. when you drive, the air cools the radiator inside the coolant.

When you stop, no air, no cooling. of course the fan will kick on

The questions are

1. does it overheat when you drive?
2. does the temperature go back to 180F with the fan on?
3. is the overflow full?
4. does the car have a coolant leak?

P.S
if you replaced all those parts and your car overheats even with the fan on when its parked, but then when you go it cools off again, it might a cylinder head problem.

driving in town...it overheats

driving on the highway it seems better

once it starts overheating, we've not let it sit and idle to see if it goes back down

overflow is full

car has no coolant leaks
