Stock lower motor mount installation

Ok, I am having trouble putting back in my stock lower motor mount after having had the rksport mount in for 2 years. I decided I want to go back to the stock feel of the car so that is why i'm putting the stock mount back in. But it doesn't seem to fit back in. just kinda wondering if i have the right mount or not at this point(because i had to go out and buy a new one(older one is lost somewhere in storage)) .

here is a pic showing one end in and the other end which won't go in because it is wider than the bracket.

This picture show the underside: (picture taken pointing towards back of the car)

This picture shows the other problem with the bigger end, there is nearly a 1/2 gap in between the mount and the bracket .

I didn't want to bash the hell outta it with a hammer on the one end to try and make it fit in case the gap on this end is going to be a problem.

just for reference, the rksport mount above the stock mount: however the rk mount was put in with the larger end towards the back of the car, which is the opposite of which the stock mount fits in. The stock mount will only work with the larger end closest to the front of the car, It is the only way the bolt holes can line up.

No I'm not. If it's put in the other way the bolt holes do not line up.
Look at this picture ,I have it put in the other way and the end of the mount is hitting this bolt inside the bracket.

Notice how the bolt holes are nowhere close to lining up?

Its backward. the big end (not wider) goes in front IIRC.

tap it with a hammer, your not gonna hurt it.

DOWN WITH STOCK PARTS, your J deserves better than that.

The RK sport mount is skinnier, and when you tightened teh bolts, it sucked in the bracket, no biggie, force it!

If it won't fit, force it. If you can't force it get a bigger hammer. If it breaks it was bad to begin with.

well i got it in, but, just for the record, I hammered it until the metal on both sides flattened and there was just no way it was going to go in. It must not have been machined properly or something , i don't know. The only way i could get it to go in was to grind down the sides with a bench grinder until it fit.
The rksport mount is a cinch to fit, in comparison, because the polyurethane forms to fit. But when it's metal against metal , it's a different story.
