2000 cavalier z24 help

Ok guys im stumed on this one. im kind new to the seen yet im a good mechanic so bare wit me. OK well ive had this on going problem wit my cavy see it has the 2.4l engine so thats a hint right there lemon of all motors i say. yeah well i have replaced all of my o2 sensors front and rear and i thought it might have been it for engine code but no way wit this car. well the code came up as slow response to bank 1 sensor 1. not only that but almost rite after i installed these new sensors i had an idle prob well it idled but way too high like up in the 14s or so. hmm yeah so i check some of the vacum lines but no go for that and i have a friend that works at a chevy garage he said that maybe your intake gasket got sucked in on one side i dunno i checked alot of things like wire connections and all that stuff but really im sick of this and it thought someone on here could help me out.ttyl

did you extend your sensor?

well see thats the thing i extended it the first time cause i have put a header on it well thats when i got the idea to just go out and buy all new sensors. well i just made the first sensor fit by pullin it out of the plastic hose to make it fit i guess so no i did not extend the wires
