i need help... my manual 97 sunfire gt is having idle problems sometimes. upon start up idle is fine(starts to idle at around 1300 than gradualy goes down to 1050 once warm. but occasionaly (i think maybe when i floor it once the car warms up) the idle stays high (around 2000 rpm) with the clutch pushed in, or in neutral... ive cleaned the throttle and iac but to no avail. please advise. thx in advance

have you checked for a vacume leak?

umm... correct me if im wrong (and i might very well be wrong) but if theres a vaccum leak shouldnt it always mess with the idle? Also, i forgot to mention if i turn of the car and restart it it idles normally 'till it messes up again several minutes afterward (it will run normally for 5-20 minutes of driving) . Oh yeah, and i have no check engine light....

could be the IAC still, our a MAP, or TPS
