Connecting a Bosch O2 sensor

I have been getting a few error codes from my computer about my o2 sensor circuit and the car ru nning lean so I decided to replace the o2 sensor. i Ordered a new Bosch O2 sensor and noticed there was a clip at the end...then when I looked under the car the previous owner connected an o2 sensor via butt connectors...does this mean that the clip was cut or is it further up? If it was cut would it be okay if I just connected it via butt connectors? How will I know which wire connects to which?

Gonna be straight honest with you, take the Bosch back, and buy an AC Delco. Had a bosch in the car a short period of time, and had all kinds of issues with it. Luckily for me, someone else had the same problem before i, and saved myself tons of money.

Bosch plugs...bosch sensors...bosh plugwires....they all work like crap on cavaliers. im being honest with you. i had tried all three on my last cavalier...never again. the plugs and wires made it misfire....the sensors made it run like crap....stay away from bosch....stay far away....
