well airidefoshow
How many miles do you have on youre 98 Z24?. Usually if you only got 150,000 you should beable to at least get another 50,000 - 80,000 miles more, Depending on youre engines maintance history. I had one of my 89 cavaliers last me from 160,000 kms to 350,000 kms with redone cyl hd gasket. I believe doing the hd gasket on youre 98 Z24 is a big job, Perfect way to learn on, If you give youre self a week on that project that should be a good amount of time to have completed.

Good Luck keep us updated.

It's not that bad to do. Get a buddy and a free day and get the thing done. A GM manual would probably help a lot. Oh, and do not think you need another motor because you have a blown head gasket.

I have owned the car since 40,000 miles and have maintained it extremely well. It now has 70,000 so i'm pretty frustrated that the gasket is blown. So i have a buddy that will help me fix it. Should i buy a manual and a couple cases of beer? Also my friend said i'd need like some torx heads or something. What do you guys think? Thanks for the input.

Also, is this a good time to maybe do the secret cam swap?

its not real hard i would wait on the cam swap until you got the head gasket and drive it a little first
