Haven't had this car long and don't have a known good one around to compare with but did find out today the cruise control is working fine. Do these cars have a light in the dash to illuminate being in cruise mode? If so then mine isn't working. Where is it located in the dash? Hard to change?

my '02 Cav has cruise but there's no light on the dash for it that I've seen.

If GM didn't put one that is so Gay. Idiots like me will forget that they have it in cruise

It's not a push button cruise, so no light. Just feel the little slider on the lever to tell if cruise is on or not.
no these cars dont have a light for cruise.
No cruise light and no console shifter indicator light. I hope they at least put a low fuel warning light in

Umm... if your foot isn't on the gas... and you're not slowing down... then you've got the cruise on. Do people really need a light to tell them this??
If you want a little visual indicator of whether the switch is in the on position or not, you can do what I did. I put a little bit of reflective red tape behind the sliding switch so when it's on, you can see it. When it's off, it's covered by the switch. You can see it in this pic:
When your fuel gets low, it will light up "CHECK GAUGES". Don't panic, it goes away when you put gas in it.

Nope but then again mine is for a new teen driver. She's capable of blinker fluid
This is however the first cruise control equipped car I have ever owned to not have a visual on it.

You should put a checklist of things she needs to check in the car when she first gets in the car, like fuel level and that she releases the parking brake.
Good idea! The low Glycol light come on the other day after I changed and flushed the system. It needed a tad and she pointed it out so she knows that one. I also remind her everytime we drive together to always check her gauges but specially the temp gauge in case a gasket ever goes (2.2 thing). I told her turn it immediately off if it goes high at all.

If you haven't had the car for long, you may want to verify your gas gauge is even correct. Mine hasn't worked for the past 3 years. When the tank is full, the gauge reads about 7/8 and then reads correctly till about 1/2 tank, then it goes back to showing a full tank. I just ignore it now and put gas in every 325 miles.
