Hi
hope you guys can help me ...i have a 2001 sunfire a weekend a go I left my car in the driveway for 2 days when I took the car to go to work it would start tough Ieft something on....jump the battery and everything was ok....the week after didn't take the car one day ...took the car to go to work wouldn't start.... the battery was 5 years old and running my sound system ( most of the time at high volumes) the alarm and the remote starter figured it was time for a new one...the week after same thing.......I noticed that when I took out the key for the starter I'm hearing a small distortion in the driver side speaker and when i open the door it stops....I checked every wire in the sound system and everything seems ok...and it started to happen from a morning to an other ...I have the car for 3 years now and never had a problem with it!!!!

forgot to tell that only happens when i don't start the car for a day so the alternator is charging...something is draining the battery and it's driving me crazy !!!!!!!

One way a battery fails is that it develops an internal short and discharges itself. Try a new battery. If it is five years old, its about that time.....

I have already changed the battery and it still discharge.....what is annoying is the distortion that come's out of the speaker when I turn the car of.....that why at first I thought it was related to my sound system...
