2nd alternator since april 1. good thing I bought the lifetime warranty the first time. Could my belt be too tight or is my amp running too much for it? Or am I just getting shafted... any ideas or things to try out thankx

what goes wrong with them? bearing usually = belt too tight, burning out = too much current draw (battery, amp, highbeams, heater, rear defrost) could be anything. Maybe you just got a lemon too, this one could be fine.

HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED

Agreed the amp or bearing issue from above.Keep in mind ur stock replacement alternator may not be sufficient in terms of amps being used by it and a higher amperage alternator would HIGHLY be recommended. As long as the tension on the belt is ok and the replace alter is not defective I would go to a higher amperage alter bc over time the increased pull heats up the alter and can frie it bc of the excessive draw of amps due to stereo components that pull more than a stock unit etc.Hope this helps u understand and if anything I added is incorrect or left something off others add or correct me.Ok

There is a link in here to a formula to work out how much output/battery capacity you really need
