I need to get my car inspected soon, i had to reset my computer to get rid of some codes...how many cycles before the o2 sensor is ready? Do i just start the car drive it a block turn it off and so on 40 times?

40 times, no.
Let me explain a few things here for you.
#1 the 40 cycles you are referring to is correct, but not in your case. This is forty cycles if you dont reset the computer. Since you reset the computer all is well, you dont have go through forty drive cycles.
Next thing if your O2 sensor was bad your computer would throw a code pretty soon, within a few miles of driving. I assume your light isnt on and I also assume you replaced your O2 sensor.
The O2 sensor is working as a direct input as soon as the car enters closed loop operation. It is used as a input before closed loop, but is not used for fuel calibartion until the car enters closed loop.

ok, for your car to pass emissions inspection (i'm assuming they do an OBDII connection test) u need to drive usualyl between 20 and 40 miles to reset the drive cycle. the best way to see if your car is ok to inspect, take it somewhere that will scan codes for free, and make there isnt a P1000 code if there is a P1000, that means all emissions systems HAVE NOT been checked, and ur car will fial emissions b/c all tests have not been completed.
