Steering cooler leak... bypass?

The U shaped tube that's considered to be a power steering fluid cooler seems to be rotten and leaking on my 97 Sunfire. I "could" go out and get a new tube, but I'd rather just bypass it because I don't care and I don't want to spend any money on this thing. Has anyone ever done this before?

Yeah, it's just a hard line on the return side that loops underneath the car before returning to the reservoir. I think I'm just going to replace that whole line since it's a low pressure return.

I bought the correct line and replaced it. It was only $27... no skin off my nose. Took a couple hours to replace though...
