a buddy of mine just got an 03 eco and on his second day of driving swerved to miss some crazy lady's car and bottomed out in a ditch. now he needs a new oil pan. we're trying to find one at a decent price cuz its not under factory warranty. the dealer wants like 600. any ideas??

You might think about getting it welded by a radiator shop. They do aluminum radiator welding, an oil pan isn't under pressure like a radiator so it should work and would be a lot cheaper than $600. (unless
the pan is totally destroyed and has chunks gone)

it's an 04 eco (my car) and it's not that bad like chunks gone or anything. it just has 2 small cracks in it that is letting oil drip out.

I've already checked every junkyard around here and called around to many places. Unfortunately no luck what so ever. Even though it sucks not having a car, I'm not giving up and breaking down to go to the dealer just yet. Thanks for the help so far though.

Try Ebay? Any 2.2L ECOTEC oil pan will work IIRC, they're used in several different cars, Cobalt, Ion, Sunfire, Cavalier, Malibu, Grand Am, Alero, etc.

Try PepBoys or some other autoparts chain. I've never seen a dealership or GM parts department beat their prices. It will be more than a junkyard, but you'll be getting a shiny new part.

i've checked all autozone, napa, advanced auto, pep boys and any other place like that, the newest they can get is 2002. it got taken down to a place today that does a bunch of radiator welding but they didnt get a chance to do anything on it today so i have to wait until monday to hear anything back i dont see why they couldnt do it..there are 2 cracks and they are each about a little less than an inch long.

if it is just cracked, get it TIG welded for like 50 bucks.
