I was told by a Chevy/Pontiac dealership, that there have been quite a few repairs done to our fuel sending unit/pump. I was wondering if anyone else has this lil dilema.
I also threw a CEL, it reads the first O2 sensor. I looked at the exhuast and it is chalked full od residue. So my thinking is, I fouled the O2 sensor from the fuel pump/sending unit, not sending the correct amount of gas. I went to NAPA and they said that a OEM O2 is 130$. That seemed to be a lil bit pricey, I mean I have replaced them on other JBO's.
I also checked the dealership on prices for the pump/unit, and they said it will be around 500$ NOT INCLUDING LABOR. Not saying I would take my vehicle there to have it worked on. No need to pay 75$/hr for 2 straps and 10 phillips screws.
I am trying and trying to save up for the HPtuner, but I keep getting poor by these problems. PISSES ME OFF.
Here's whats wrong with my car, besides the CEL. When you drive it seems to be flooded, kinda boggy at times. Doesnt smell rich, but the deposits in my tail pipe tell me that it is rich. My gas gauge is never correct. My question was at the top of this rant.
