hey guys, i live in ottawa, visited canadian tire one day and saw Coolant (forget the brand) but it said DEX-COOL compliant/compatible 5 yr/240000kms....is that safe to use? cuz i wanted to flush the coolant, but i cant find DEXCOOL anywhere....just wondered if this would be ok if it says its compatible or compliant with DEX-COOL...

if your gonna do a full flush, as in with a machine, u dont have to use dexcool.
but if your just gonna drain it and put new fluid in it, u have to use dex-cool/dex-cool compaible fluid.

i know shortly after dex-cool came out, GM had a TSB about coolant, and was reccomended to remove the dex-cool. the anti-corrosive agent in it was actually causing corrosion
