Premature Brake Pad Wear
Sunday, July 02, 2006 8:09 PM
A Month ago i just put in weaver brake rotors and bendiix pads and my rotors felt like they were warped like 3 days ago so i changed/upgraded the rotors to bendix, but when i was looking at the pads the inner pads(the one that slides onto the outside of the caliber on both of my caliber were almost gone and these pads have a life time warranty, does anyone know what the problem might be?

Are bothe pads having the same issues? Does the braking system feel like their is some dragging?. Could be youre front brake pads weren't seated properly, Or youre calipers a re sticking.

yea i greased the slide pins and both sides are doin the same thing and on the old rotors there was like a burn mark ion the top of the rotor on both sides too , im might get new caliberas and see if that fixes the promblem but i never bleeded brakes before

Well if the slides are working properly then I can think of only 2 things it could be. 1 a bad caliper 2 a bad brake hose.

Calipers are sticking, from what you've said here. I get my brakes flushed and bled every other year to maximize the life of all parts (and $$$$$ ABS parts!!!). My calipers still needed rebuilt at around 165,000 miles due to sticking. As for bleeding brakes yourself, nice way to save money if you know what you're doing. Either have a buddy to press the brake pedal gently while you open and close the bleed screw, or a D.I.Y. vacuum pump (those have directions in the package), or a special one-way check valve at the end of a hose that goes on the bleed screw. I found that I forget where, and what it was called, but I'm anxious to try it.

Dart, A bad brake hose will act just like a sticking caliper piston. When a brake hose goes bad it colapses inside of itself so when you hit the brakes fluid forces its way thru the bad spot but when you release the brakes it can't let all the presure off due to the bad spot. That makes the brakes drag and go bad. As well as kill your gas mileage! lol!
