what does it mean when oil is bubbling out around the spark plugs?? i really need an answer qiuck if possible....i need to go on a trip on sunday, and wanna get my car fixed.....
1 of 2 things:
1) Is the oil coming out from the sparkplug holes?
2) is it leaking from the edge of the valve cover which is right above the spark plug holes?
9 outta 10 the oil is there because something around the plugs is leaking
and the bubbling would either be the oilboiling or the spark plug is loose and causing a compression leak to bubble the oil
let it cool off clean the oily areas , check all the plugs make sure they are tight , then drive it andfigure out where the leak is then fix it
On the 2200, the only place it could leak to be around the sparkplug holes in the valve cover gasket 2 inches above. Unless the head is cracked.
Sounds like a bad VC gasket and the oil is puddleing in the spark plug holes and cooking off. No biggie, hust clean everything off well and check the gasket for leaks.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
thanx guys, will do......i just replaced the valve cover gasket today though, and it does not seem to be leaking.....i will check the spark plugs and let you guys know...thanx again
BTW, if you just changed the Valve cover gasket and did not clean off the top of your sparkplugs, it will be just left over oil on the top of the plugs from when the cover was leaking.
yea, true......but my chek engine light came on.......im not sure why...im gonna wait till it stops rainin then check on it
thanx
You prob left the oil there and fouled your plugs or wires for that matter.
well ill clean everything up, and clean all connectors and wires, take plugs out, clean and check, then put everything back together and try running it again.....im afraid i have bad piston rings or hed gasket, or cracked head

.........ill find out i guess...thanx again....
al else fails do a compression test to it
