Is it necessary to have a replacement ECM re-flashed if its the same year, engine and tranny?
Yes.

Thats Him Officer The WICKED One.
Um, why would that be necessary, if the engine and tranny types are the same as they were before, and of the same year? I'm guessing a drivetrain swap out? Disconnect the battery overnight should do the trick. IF a type other than what the ECM was originally hooked up to is installed, then yes, time to re-flash.
I'm gonna get the ECM and try it first, then if it doesn't work then i'll have it re-flashed. Local dealer said it was only $59.95 to have the ECM reflashed
