I drive a '99 Z24, about 105000+ miles. The check engine light came on, so I had it checked for free at an Autozone. He gave me the code and said that fumes are being detected. Unfortunately, I can't remember the code, but I can describe how the car acts. I can slowly accelerate, but if i give it too much gas, its seems like the engine isn't going through proper combustion, and has a hard time speeding up. Instead it will struggle to achieve speed. This worsens even more when I have the AC on... Anyone have any ideas? I'm guessing there is a leak somewhere in the fuel line and not enough gas is being delivered to the engine. I'll go back to Autozone again tomorrow to get the code again. PLEASE HELP!
How's the gas mileage?

Loss of power can be caused by, car needs tune up, cat convertor plugged, exhasut system plugged, EGR stuck open, list goes on and on.
I would first ask when was your last tune up.

To answer Mfk-223's question, gas mileage is still pretty good (I think). I could probably get 320-350 miles out of a full tank, but I always refill when there's a quarter tank left. To Rob S, I had the car repaired in February for another faulty ignition module (probably 2nd time already.) But with regards to tune up, I think it's ben long enough for me not to remember. Know any good places that would do it? I'm not too car saavy, so I don't think I would do it. Thanks for your replies.

If your profile is correct and you live in Glendale Height, iL I can do it for you. I currently until November live in Glen Ellyn, about 15 minutes from Glendale Heights. Sunday morning, Tues or Wed afternoon.
