Does anybody else have issues with thier 5 speed Getrag tranny? Mine has 67,500 kms on it, it's a 2003 with a 2.2L, and it's really starting to whine, particularly around 50/60 km/h. It also sometimes feels like it wants to stick in gear, then "pops" out, when I shift. What's up? Does it just need to be serviced? The manual says to service it at 50,000 miles, and that's 80,000 kms. I do drive it fairly hard on occasion.
Any comments?

every tranny acts different and are not built all the same sadly. Although the book says service at 50k you should do it sooner to save you problems down the road. Try draining about 2 quarts of fluid then adding about 1 1/2 of new in along with some lucas tranny additive and see what that does.

I drained/refilled mine and used the Trick Shift DEx-III ful synthetic, made my '03 shift much much better. Highly reccomended.
