trying to put the timing chain back on my car and for some reason my tennsioner is screwed !!! It doesnt seem to put any presure up wards on the chain at all ?
It says on it check manual to reset it ?
is it broken or does it need a reset ? In my manual it shows a completely different tennsioner
Please help!

Iv'e done it on an older OHC chevy. There's a spring behind the tensioner and yours may be shot. I think there was a hole to insert a small rod or pin to hold it in while installing the chain. The one i did I also has to replace the tensioner when i did the chain. Do you have the GM manual or a haynes? The GM manual has pretty good instructions, the haynes sucks.
