New fuel filter?

I have a random re-occuring problem that a few people tell me will probably be fixed by a new fuel filter. Does anyone know at what milage your supposed to replace them? I am just under 53,000 miles on a 01 Z. And how much should this cost at a shop? Thanks.

I would say do it, it cant hurt. And dont pay a shop. Go buy yourself one at your local auto parts store, and grab some tools. Crawl under the back of your car and you will see it there. THere are better directions as well as pics somewhere here if you search.

Heck if you are near santa cruz CA, I will do it for the price of beer.

But realyl do it yourself for liek 15 bucks and maybe 15 minutes of time.
