Well my friend just put a set of Monroe Sensa-Trac struts on his 99 cavalier what a differance of from the stocker struts, By far way better handling, Ride is nice and smooth, Youre gonna pay a little bit for these struts in the long run they are very good product, I will buy a set when I got to replace mine as well.

Good Luck

well are you lowered or plan on lowering in the future? if your not lowered or looking to lower your car you can get some kyb gr-2s or the agxs (agxs will work w/ a drop up to 1.5" and are adjustable) or you can get tokico hps.

I put a pair of NAPA Sensa-Tracs (Monroe) on the back of my g/f's 97 Sunfire SE coupe she had. Great choice for stock replacement.

Maybe consider replacing the mounts also...?

People always replace the shocks, thinking that is it. You should also replace the mounts and the springs.

To anyone who's recommending Monroe, they suck. I have them on my GAM right now.
Trust me, I know what a good strut is, and they are not.
The second I think they're totaly blown they're coming off and I'm putting GR2s on it too.

I have GR2s on the Cavy and they're much nicer riding and handling. I've heard great things about HPs too.

Don't get them from a local place either, you'll pay out the ass.
Get them from a reputable place on the net.
See the Suspension area for details.

not to totally contradict you but imo

sensa track>gr2

from the cars I have put them on I have experienced the same level of handling with a far superior ride caracteristics with the sensa track

when you beat someone in a civic people wine and make excuses
when you beat someone in a cavalier they pull over and check under thier hoods
