Does anyone know what the code PO 440 means?
I ran the scanner on my car and it gave me PO 440 Evaporator emissions as the code. We erased it, and the check engine light hasn't come back on, but I would still like to know what may have caused it?
Thanks everyone
make sure your gas cap is tight.
I had the same problem months back, I went to a full serve gas station, The guy that was pumping the gas didnt tighten my gas cap in which gave me a cel code.
First thing I did as soon as that light poppe don was check my gas cap and make sure it was tightened.
Oh well, it hasn't popped back on yet, and I drove it around for about 80 miles or so last night after we reset the code.
Thanks for the help guys.
And Rich, there is actually a full service station left somewhere in this world? I'd love to see one
Okay, my car was fine for four days, then the check engine light came back on again, is there any other reason the car could be throwing this code other than the gas cap? I never removed the gas cap between the time I erased the code and when it popped back on. I just went and filled the car up with gas a little bit ago, hping maybe it was the pressure in the tank or something.
Anyone have any ideas?
