Just had to add another liter of oil.
I have a leaking valve cover gasket on my 2.4 liter which I can't afford 800cdn to get it fixed.
Just want to know if I can keep driving it if I just keep adding a litre of oil every 6 to 8 weeks.
Any input would be great !

Valve cover? u mean the cam cover right? Not sure but 800 to fix that?? the gasket is cheep and its not hard to change a gasket. 800 sounds WAY too much. Maybe 100 if you brought it too a shop.
to answer your question, it may be ok for now but save the hassle and possiblle problems down the road and get another quote on the maintenance. any leak is bad. especially on the 2.4s.

He might mean head gasket, which can get pretty expensive if you take it to a shop.
It's the Valve Cover gasket the one that on top.
I think the timing chain hes to coma off etc.
So just wondering if I can keep driving by ading a liter of oil every 6 to 8 weeks

Hey if you have a 2.4 then the valve cover is the thing that says 2.4 twin cam on it, and there is no gasket it just sits on the spark plugs .
Anyways you probably mean the cam housing gasket, This is the one that separates the cam housings from the head cyliners head. If these are leaking then you will notice oil dripping into your spark plug area !!! This will cause you to lose oil !
If you mean head gasket leak then you will see oil dripping lower down the engine and probably on to your engine block.
Or the third thing that you might mean is the housing that sits on the back of the chain which the 2 cams stick through ! If this is what you man then one of the gaskets at the end of your cam is gone ! And this will be a bit of a job
judgine by the price you were quoted this or the head gasket sounds like it is gone !
anyways drive her till the wheels fall off !!
but if you want it done and your in the area ill give you a good price !
