ok heres the deal. 2001 cavalier 2200. put on the pacesetter header and the o2 crapped out, i dorve it that way for abit until last week. i went out and bought the bosch oe type and the caspers electronics extension, since that is what everyone says is the best way to go to fix it. well it came back on today, scanned it and once again it is the front o2. has this happened to anyone, and what the hell did they do to fix it.

Okay a code for an O2 sensor doesnt mean the O2 sensor is bad, in fact normally it is something else.

If the code is for to rich for example, it means the O2 sensor had been reading rich ( above 400mV for X amount of time. The computer is always monitoring the O2 sensor for switching, it should switch rich to lean about 8 times a second.

So if your code says to rich, you would need a scan tool to see what LT/T is. If LT/FT is say 35%, it means the car was running pretty freaking lean, and the ECM said "lean go rich".

So i would seriously stop tossing sensors at your car when it isnt the problem. Get it checked out by a good shop that has a good OBD II scan tool.
