today my alternator belt popped off and i dont know why...i was rllin down the interstate and i heard a pop noise....i thought i blew a tire, but after popping my hood i found out that it had a broke alterntor belt....i cleaned my engine today with armorall and my dad was like it was prob from that armorall u cleaned everything with....is it possible that this could be...like i know if u dont wipe armorall off it leaves like those spots but i looked on the belt and i dont see any spots....could it just be that it is old and just needed to be replaced....my car has 92 thousand miles on it and i think the belt may have just been old....tell me what u think
Generally, the belts only last around 50k miles or so at best so it was probably WAY overdue for replacement.

50k? Seriously? I have 121k on mine and have never changed it. I just pulled my A/C compressor off and inspected the belt and it still looks brand new. Surprised me for sure.
I didn't have my alernator belt replaced until I hit 150k, and that was only because I had the alternator replaced. I just had it replaced again after only 100k because it got sprayed with coolant when the pump broke.
