Ok i had a post a while back about my defroster tab not being attached to teh window and how to fix it and what not.. Well i finally got the tab reattached to the window and so i tested to make sure it worked.. Well the defroster doesnt really seem to work.. after i thought i had em fixed i tried em and it didnt seem to work to defrost my rear window.. So i made sure to test both sides today..
Anyway after thinking.. is the passenger side tab maybe the ground? I dont have a multimeter to test for continuity.. im just using a power tester so i wouldnt be able to test ground.. But i figured its either a ground.. or something is not working on that side..
If it is ground i guess tomma morning ill go out and turn on teh defroster and let it sit till it automaticly turns off to see if it works..
So is this how its supposed to work?
Driverside Checking Defroster Tab = WORKS

Driverside Checking Window = Yep, Works
Passenger Checking Defroster Tab = nothing..

Passenger Checking Tab not connected to connecter = the window strips transfer current..

Passenger Checking Window, not connected to connector = Yep still transfers current
The rear window element is just a number of heater elements connected in parallel.
So one side should have a nominal +12volts (Say Point A)
and the other side is grounded (Call it Point B).
If it is NOT grounded you should read read +12volts at Point A and Point B when switched ON (Assuming at least one of the elements is complete and undamaged)
If Point B is grounded as it should be it will be at ground potential--i.e. Read zero volts.
Hope this helps

Thanks, i was talkin to JimmyZ and he verfied that too. so they do work im just waiting for a morning to test and make sure they actually work.. if they dont defrost im ognna need to find out why next...
