Just got a 97 sunfire gt 5 speed and the first problem with the car is the shift linkage. Can anyone tell me if they have a sloppy linkage and what to do to fix the problem, my car feels like it is in neutral in every gear, I replaced it with one from the junkyard that looked to have a better bushing but is is still sloppy but not as much, do I just need to replace it?Also the blower motor isn't blowing very hard and doesn't work on the first two settings if I replace the switch under the dash will this fix the problem and right now are the last two speeds acting as the first two so when I fix it , it will blow even harder?

Just the normal new guy questions, anything that I should know that years of experience that you guys have would help?

Linkage, probably need a new cable. Would have to see it to confirm this though.
Fan speeds. Go to a dealer parts store, tell them you need the "Blower Fan Resistor Board". They'll know exactly what you want. It will cost about $30.

To install is a bitch. Pull the cover on the passenger side under the dash. Pull the blower (3 screws). Pull the old resistor board (2 screws that are hard as heck to get to). Reverse with the new one.
