Help with temperature on car

My temperature gauge will run at the halfway point and slowly climb........it takes around 20-30 mins of driving...has a new thermostat and waterpump.......any idea what else could be wrong?

bad cooling fan

Check if the fan is coming on when it gets past 90. If not you have a lead on your problem

The fan doesnt come on till 180F

I'm having the same problem. I just changed the thermostat a couple weeks ago and initally it worked perfectly, fan came on right at 90. Now within the last couple days its gone back to climing right up when im sitting in traffic.

Air pocket meaning what?

Could be youre water pump is getting close to wearing out.

brand new...has less than 100 miles on it

if everything else does not fix the problem, then you might need to

-resurface Cylinder Head
And...
-replace Head-Gasket
