Cylinder four misfire
Sunday, May 28, 2006 4:02 PM
I keep getting a misfire code for cylinder 4 and only cylinder 4. It only happens when the car is first started and idles for about five min. I've already replaced the plugs, wires and fuel injector on number four. I'm kinda stumped on this one. And its not a head gasket either because I comp tested it and they are all good (within 5% of 180 I belive it was) I also tried spraying starter fluid around the intake gasket area near the head to see if I had a gasket leak, but that didn't appear to have a leak.

Anyone have any clues??

ps I think the code is a po304 if I remember correctly.

My problem was in cyl. 1. Turned out to be the coil for 1 and 4.

Have you checked the gap on your spark plugs?

I think I just found the problem. It looks like I had cylinder four and cylinder 1 backwards coming off the coil pack. Apparently the msd dis 2 that I have installed has enough power to compesate for it. I must have had them backwards for atleast 8 months now which is weird because I have never had any type of driveablity problem besides the intermittant misfire code.

Weird huh??
