Just installed a header on the car to notice that where there should be an egr valve there wasn't. called up autozone and it is not on the parts list. is this strictly a dealer part or does anyone no where i can get one
they stopped the egr on z24's late-'99+ ..so in other words it doesn't exsist on a 2000 z24 ..there was no need for it according to GM
that answer was correct except for egr on z24 last year was 98
friends dont let friends roll stock
Well thanks for clearing that up, so then what should go in that hole that seems to be robbing my engine's intake of clean breathable air by letting all the exhaust hudle under my engine bay? Plug? or am I going to have to relocate my air intake into my fender well? I don't remember taking anything out of a hole when installing the air intake.
Thanks for the quick response EDGE and SQ
There is a plate and gasket with 2 bolt holes that fits over the EGR hole. It's the same shape and size as the base of an EGR valve and uses the same mounting bolts. It's quite easy to make a cover but do use a gasket to seal it. The engines that don't use the EGR have a plate that is about 1/8'' thick.
farbicated a plate and used gasket seal bolted it on and there is no more lawnmower man
Thanks for everyone who helped
