ok...well i think i may have something wired incorrectly on the starter becuz my fuel pump runs constantly..
can someone post up a pic of the starter wiring?
maybe a diagram of which wires go where?
thanks

I don't think your problem is in the starter wiring because the fuel pump relay is driven off the Engine Control Module.Try removing the fuel pump relay and listen if the pump stops running. If it does stop then maybe the relay is bad. Change it with another relay of the same type in your engine compartment fuse block. Look at the number on the relay. Just be sure to mark it and to put it in the right way. The cover over the fuse block names the fuses and relays. They are also marked in your user manual.
If that does not help then there might be a problem with the ignition switch wiring. Check for shorted-out wires there. The starter solenoid is a yellow wire at the ignition switch. It changes to a purple wire after coming out of the transmission and goes to the solenoid.
Ok, I've studied the circuit. This is how the fuel pump works. When you turn ignition on, the Power Control Module energizes the pump relay for 2 seconds and switches off. Now the fuel rail is pressurerized. Now you turn the key to crank the engine. Engine starts. Oil pressure builds up and closes contacts on oil pressure switch. Contacts on oil pressure switch feed power to fuel pump and engine keeps running.
In other words, as a safety precaution the fuel pump will stop if there is no oil pressure. The fact that your pump runs all the time might also mean that the oil pressure switch is bad.
Oops, sorry, spelt pressurized wrong.
