So every once in a while my check engine light comes and i then after a day or half a day it goes back off. So it was on while i was near an auto zone today and so i stopped in and had it diagnosed and they said it said one of the things was a problem with the map sensor. They said it came up as something about a misfire and also something about being lean. Does anyone know if i need to replace my map sensor or what? Thanks guys
any advice? oh yeah and i just swapped the motor out about 2500 miles ago. I just swapped my turbo and all my parts onto the new motor.
try cleaning map sensor with throttle body cleaner??????
friends dont let friends roll stock
Turbo??? Maybe you need to invest in an air/fuel ratio guage, if you don't already have one. Also, check your fuel pressure, vacuum lines, and intake/throttle body gaskets. Don't forget about your O2 sensor, TPS sensor, ect.
Also DO NOT clean the throttle body with any type of solvents!!! I know alot of people do, but the silicon membrane inside the sensor can be damaged by doing this. Some (mainly Chrysler), but not all manufacturers use a fuel vapor filter to prevent contamination and/or damage of the sensor. If you are running boost, and don't have a filter in place, chances are that fuel vapor may have contaminated the sensor. Regardless of wether this is your problem or not, I'd suggest putting a filter in between the MAP sensor and vacuum source.
