Ok when i got my car out of storage i noticed that i had a noise coming from which sounds like the drivers front wheel. It sounded like my brakes were rubbing or something everytime my wheel revolved. it would be faster as i went faster, slow down when i came close to a stop. well it went away as i drove it longer and once i got it back to my house i didn't notice it anymore, until today. I noticed it today while i had my windows down while driving. like before it is a "revolving" noise, higher pitched as i go faster and slower and deeper as i slow to a stop, kinda like a helicopter starting up(best explanation i can come up with). not exactly sure what it is an hoped someone could shead some light on it for me. thanx

sounds like the wheel bearing.

jack the wheel up and shake the wheel.
My car did that but it was a flat spot on my tire.
I agree wheel hub bearing. I nailed a curb in the snow once and it toasted the bearing and when I drove it sounded like woo woo woo woo lol.

ya it's not pads, i just got new brakes last fall before i stored it so new pads and rotors. don't know if the rotors warped due to storing it or maybe it is the wheel bearing. will jacking up the car and shakin the wheel let me know if it is the hub bearing like Robby002 said??

if it sounds like a helicopter, I think it might be the tire due to storing
ill go as far as saying IT IS THE WHEEL BEARING HUB ASSEMBLY> how ever more than like likely you will get no play when jacking up the car and pulling on the tire do to 3 things good ball joint good tie rod ends and drive shaft bolted thru the hub assembly

ok i think the consenses is the wheel bearing . not the tire cause my summer wheels were not on the car when i stored it so i don't think that would be it.

I had a bad wheel bearing for about a month and a half, and it was my daily driver.
however, you never know how bad the damage is, since it's a sealed unit. I'd say get it done as soon as you can.

Almost 100% to be your wheel bearing. Mine did the same exact thing. Turn the wheel to the right and there it was. That terrible rubbing noise. I've spoke with some people who refurb j-bodys and they say cavaliers and sunfire can be particularly bad for wheel bearings. I got two brand new ones from Advance. Didn't break the bank at all.
Woooo bubbies.
well guys not fixed yet but then again i havn't driven since, but i did last couple days and would the noise change if it is the wheel bearing when i apply the brake??? same kinda noise but it changes when i put on my brakes, that's why i think it might be a rotor. what do u think??
