Just as the question states what does an exhaust leak really sound like? okay this is my problem.
Whenever I start the car up and let it run until it warms and then drive it a while it begins to tick whenever i let off the gas at a low rpm. Also if i'm sitting still i rev it up and hold it and it does not sound like its going along with the sound of the motor therefore it leads to believe its not my motor.
So my question is can an exhaust leak really cause a ticking noise? btw I have a 2.2 ecotec with a pacesetter header, and a magnaflow high flow cat....
could the psss, be spaced out though?
yes, it can tick, it can psshhhh, it can and generally will be spaced if it's more inthe piping/ If its along the manifold it might just be constant, dont know though.
If you really wanna know, loosen up the exhaust and just run it open for a min. It'll sound like your typical old pickup truck going down a country road.
Has this only started to happen when you got the cat welded up? I've had welds break loose months down the road so theres always that possibility too. Once you hear the sound for sure, You'll never forget it.
