Trunk Tensionor

Hey guys i have a carbon trunk lid and i think i may have to take out my tensionors in the trunk to make it fit right. One side is pushed up more than the other. I heard this can be a painful experience if you arent careful. What is the best way to do this? Thank you.

I used a deep well socket with an extension on it. Those sob's can do some damage if you're not careful. My car's passenger side was up a little higher, our old '97 sedan was up higher on the same side, and I've seen cavs in parking lots with the passenger side up a little higher. Makes me think this is not uncommon. I shimmed my hinge on the passenger side and adjusted the rubber stopper on the driver side and got it pretty much evened out.
