trouble shooting help. 2.2 eco crank no start

ok guys here we go.

a good friend of mine just called me, he has a 02 grand am with a 2.2 eco he knew the crap i did with my 02 cav so he called me.

whats the deal? he hears the fuel pump and the car gave no codes.

are there any common problems i dont know about? what are you guys thinkin?

it has 80k on it.

then again i moved to a redline, so i guess others moved on.

Well The first thing I would be trouble shooting is coil packs, Maybe take a look in the fuse panel in the engine compartment to see if the ignition module fuse is acting up, Sounds to me no spark is acurring.

Yea you need to check for spark. How many kms does it have?

BTW, you aren't going to get replies the very second you make a post. People don't wait here for new posts to show up so they can help out, so take it easy on the whole 3 posts in an hour thing.

Assumeing since a crank no start we can set aside the charging side of the car for now.

One the fuel side

- fuel pressure
- fuel volume
- fuel content
- injector pulse

On the spark side

- spark or no spark
- resistance of the coil primary and seconary
- ICM condition
- power to the ICM

Also CKP sensor, starter, starter solenoid, ignition switch,

lots of things can go wrong

i just put a new fuel filter in my wifes 02 ls sport.

seems to be a little better starting now.
