When my car is at stopped and is in neutral it will really shake when the rpms are
less then 1200. As soon as i give a bit of gas and bring the rpms to say 1400 it runs
like new.
Is there anyone who has had this, or has a suggestion to help this issue ??
Other then very low rpm , my car runs perfect ?
Why are you putting it in neutral when stopped? Just keep it in D or in gear. Sorry, don't have any knowledge on why it is shaking. Do you have aftermarket motor mounts? That will do it if you do. Or is your car not at temperature yet? Just thinking of random things here. It's probably nothing. And your car isn't idling in neutral as the car isn't in gear.
FILL OUT YOUR REGISTRY!!!
check your plugs, sounds like a misfire. did it on mine and didn't pull a code. may even be an egr valve if you have one.
Maybe a misfire...
Any codes?
Also, it would help if you filled out your profile with what type of car you have.

If it's a misfire, it might not even throw a CEL. Plug a reader into the OBD2 port and check if it's throwing any trouble or warning codes. They tend to do that sometimes.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
I drive a 97 z24 it doesnt matter what gear its in , its all about the rpms !! i just said neutral as an example since most times that your in neutral your car is stopped somewhere. At least mine is anyways
I changed all the plugs thinking it could be that and that didnt help same problem
im not getting any codes either. It does sound like a misfire
If this helps at all, it screws up my exhaust sound to, you know when you get a blown headgasket and it makes that "pop pop pop" sound, well thats what it sounds like
Like i said before it still only does it at low RPM ?
could it be his mounts on his engine? maybe they're worn out? stock
bosch plugs??? maybe an IAC motor.
have you checked the plug wires or connections to the plugs? they may be rusted or something . im not very up to date on the 2.4 but whos knows .
ITS ALL FUN IN GAMES TILL SOMEONE GETS SHOT IN THE LEG
apparently not since 2.4 don't have plug wires
Same problem /w a 2002 z24 just purchased. Dealer had it idle at 1100 somehow... after new battery it sits at 700-800 and idles rough. With ac on the idle drops to 600 sometimes and even shakes the dash.
New spark plugs (a/c delco plat), cleaned out IAC (was dirty /w purple crap... not sure what would make that purple).
Anyone know how to set the idle? If I could set the idle at 1000 i'd be fine /w it, but the screw type fitting on the throttle cable doesn't seem to do anything. If anyone find something let me know, hard to diag this problem seeing as how you can't pull the plugs individually to see if it's a miss etc.
Ran some seafoam through... no change. This car did come /w a fartcan on it, possibly the exhaust system has a bad vibration problem below 1k rpm.
what motor mounts do you have???

P&P Tuning
420.5whp / 359.8wtq
Checked the top mount, or at least I think the top mount... it's the one on the passenger side of the engine. Black /w rubber in it... looks like a larger version of my mustang mount. Have to wait until light to check the other motor mounts. I'm thinking this has to be a dirty injector or something as the motor doesn't jerk when reved.
On a 302 (mustang) if the mounts are bad the engine will jump when reved from idle to 2000rpm. That may just be because of the higher torque though ;(
Maybe your TPS has a hole in it? Mine idles rough because of that, but I'm at about 800.
I concur w/ Spotabee Racing, there may be a code in pending that simply hasn't given you a Check Engine Light. This will let you know if a problem is developing. Just go to an auto parts store that does free engine scans, or just buy an OBD II engine scanner that will display codes in pending.
Since our 2.4L's don't have spark plug wires, it is their equivalent, the igniton coil housing, that can "go bad" and when it does, you can have at least an uneven idle and at most, a severe misfire that makes the car undriveable until you replace that housing. I consider this part more or less a wear item on the 2.4L engine and I wouldn't hesitate to replace it. Just make sure you get one with at least a 2-year warranty as I got the one from Niehoff, part# DR194 and the damn thing died after just over one year! So, you know which one you don't want.
