How Many Cans Of R-134?

I have a 96 Sunfire 2.2L. The air conditioning system has been completely emptied out and I was wondering how many cans (I have three 14OZ cans of R-134) it would take to fill the air conditioning system without overfilling. Thanks.

Uhm... the cans say never to add more than one can. You realize that by putting these cans in there that you're still going to have a problem. You're only filling the low pressure side. Plus, since there's no pressure in teh A/C system, you're going to need to get the compressor to kick on, usually involving a tricky jumper wire.

I'd personally let a shop do it if it's completely empty.

Ok first off you have to use a vacum pump to create a vacum in the system so that it will then draw in all of the new refrigerent. Also it takes 1.5 lbs which would be 24 ozs to be exact. If you dont have the proper tools take it to a shop.
