looks like sensor on your tranny on your dash when you put it into P, D 1 2 etc. does the light come on with the correct gear its in?
Yup!, You nailed it.. those lights have been out for a while.. Does the sensor (or the cable) have a name? (for ebay purposes)

where are the wires broken right at the sensor? i doubt the sensor even has wires when you buy it. you might need to figure out a way to solder it back together or something. Either way your pix kinda suck you need some closer up ones to see where its broken etc.
Yeah the wires that clip into the sensor are the ones which are broken.. Ideally I'll just buy a new wiring harness? If only I could work out what it's called
The 2nd picture (sorry about the size, it's deep in there and hard to get a camera up to it
) shows a cream colored clip plugged into the sensor where the wires are broken, you can see one of the white wires coming out from the harness/tube.. there are 4 wires which go into the clip, 3 are broken, and no idea where they go, beyond the harness.
So, yeah the wires are broken between the harness and the cream colored clip, which is plugged into the sensor.

yea you need to find someone to cut you there harness off and leave an inch or 2 of wire to the end so u can solder it together. i dont know if dealership would even carry such a thing
It's called a " neutral safety switch"..........call the dealer....maybe they can order a pigtail for that switch......not to sure on that though
