04 cavalier. Recently, I noticed my AC vent selector knob is really hard to turn, and doesn't change the vents.

it's basically stuck in the first selection, or recirculation..

I brought it to the dealer and they said some peice of foam or something needed to be replaced that goes around the cable, don't know how true that is.

Recently my car was broken into, headunit stolen. I replaced the dash, and got a new headunit, but I don't think any of these events would effect this knob.

its possible when youre stereo was stolen the thief could have damaged youre vent selector cables, Ive seen that happened a few to many time.
