I have an AEM CAI and i figured i should clean the filter, since i have not done it since i got it almost 2 year ago (about 25,000 miles). They say in the instructions to do it every 50,000 for regular useage or 25,000 for extream conditions. I do not run in extream conditions but i noticed a slight drop in MPG and figured that this would be an easy way to get back what i lost. So my question is.... should i order the AEM specific cleaning kit or would a K&N cleaning kit work. I have a K&N kit that i used to clean the K&N filter that i had before i got the CAI and it still has enough solvent and oil left for at least one more cleaning. I have been looking on-line and the AEM kit runs about $10 - 15. So any input would be helpful, thanks.

i'm pretty sure nautica is correct. last i checked, kn filters are used by AEM. anyways, i've used the KN cleaning kit on my aem air filter for the entire 50k i've had it.

My AEM CAI kit came with a K & N filter. It was stamped K & N on the inside.
