Motor leaking oil

Just for confirmation, and sugestions:
Pretty much i already know that the rear main seal is busted, and it leaks oil out of the inspection hole for the flywheel the Gterag tarnny, and the Ecotec.
I guess theres a couple of ways of doing this, but i would like some confirmation on it.
1) on a lift, drop the tranny , pull the flywheel off, and then replace the seal.
2) pull the motor, turn it upside down, and then replace the seal.

I figure i might as well get the clutch, and a flywheel, and flush out the tranny fluid too at the same time.

This motor has 68,000 miles, and it's an 02 Eco......
sugestions, hints, @!#$ to look for ?
I recon i look for a beater, becase that'll give me a chance to leave my car in the shop for some time. Might as well. right ?? Then i can do a complete overhaul.

Please post here.

Give your friction disc a good look, and if you even think theres the slightest chance oil got onto it, replace it. Also get your flywheel machined if it theres is any heat marks, scratches, etc. on it.

Friction disc= Clutch disc. The "clutch" is made up of a few different parts. The friction disc, or clutch disc is the part that actually transfers the power when it is clamped between the pressure plate and flywheel. You don't HAVE to repalce the whole assembly, because your car doesn't have too many miles on it, unless you did get oil on the disc then yes you have to replace it. Unles you're trying to go for more performance then I wouldn't reccommend replaceing the flywheel. Lot cheaper that way

i've just figured all that was a clutch, period.
Neway, I'm still sorta contemplating on the flywheel, not sure yet, but def the clucth is getting replaced.
Sugestions on either 1) or 2) though !!!
And is there anything else that might possibly cause the leak, just in case
