alternator wiring help

i have an o4 sunfire. i had to replace the alternator because the original one was damaged when it was in an accident. They also cut the old wiring clip (that plugs into alt) off. I bought a new clip from GM but i need to to know where the wire go. I have a red and a black wire coming form the wiring of the car. The new clip I have has 2 white wires. i need to know the correct sport for the read and black wires. If anyone can tell me it would be great, or if anyone has a pic of the wiring to their alt., that would be even better.

If no one else can help

Could you post the part # of your alternator'

Does the connector look like either of these

http://www.madelectrical.com/catalog/cs-130.shtml

I only have info on a '93 2.2 but I probably have your wiring listed somewhwere

This is the diagram page (3) of alternatorparts.com.

These are for the CS130 alternators, make sure you use the correct diagram for your alternator.

It would be a good idea to read and maybe print off all six pages of this instruction manual

http://www.alternatorparts.com/cs130_sbpage3.htm

I am sure they would help if you are really stuck.

Hope this helps
