best way to tighten O2 sensor

I hope this isn't a stupid question but what is the best way to get the manifold O2 sensor tight on the 2.4 engine?
I can't get a socket on it because of the wire connection. Also a closed ended wrench seems to be too long to get in that small space. When I was replacing the sensor the old one was real lose so I know there is a problem with getting them in tight.
Is there a special tool out there to get this job done.

yes there is a special tool, you can rent it from Autozone for free. i believe its just a 7/8" socket with a slit in it for the wire.

either get the o2 sensor socket, or fit a socket you know should fit and cut a slot down one side so you can fit around the wires.

I called Autozone in my town and they didn't have that socket to rent so I guess I will have to cut down the side of a my socket to get it in tight unless
there is any place to buy them off the internet?
Thanks for the info!

Sears will have them, so will just about every autoshop, and auto store.

there is a special socket. I know the big guys, snap on, mac and matco have it.
I would think Auto zone, checker pep boys NAPA would have it. It is a socket looking tool, but opened on the side to the wire sticks out and does not get in the way.

Not cheap, but in your case, it is what you need.

Okay will check around town before ordering off the internet. It will be faster this way and less money too. Thanks for the great feedback!

Wait 'til the engine is hot before working on it. The heat will make it easier to turn.
