Typo...should have said 'drain tool'
O.K.
nice gloves. btw.
Oh, you can get the filter wrench set from matco or something like that for less than $80.
Its a cartigage filter. I would buy one of the cleanable ones, that would save you some money too.

That's a new one.
Nope not really, they have been around for atleast a dozen years. Do some research.
I hope you aren't talking about vw bugs or that fuel filter you have on your pcv system.
Another reason not to buy an import.
God bless America.
engineers don't think of those who have to maintain the vehicle. It's more of a, OH THIS IS REALLY COOL.....
That and the guys designing the body arn't always helping design the engine.

i may be mistaken, but my neighbour just got a saturn ion redline.. 2.0L supercharged(basically cobaltss in ion form) and he seems to be pretty convinced that he has a "cleanable oil filter". so yea, its apparently not just on imports.

Imports are the future. Yet again EVERY US manufacture lost more market share in 2005, yet again Toyota gains more and more of it.

imports arent even impotrs anymore. most japenese and german vehicles are made in the US.
Ill make a sig someday

And most domestics are made in mexico, canada, and just about every where other then the US.
And the profits go where? GM employs more Americans than all the import transplants combined, even with the job cuts. You need to be concerned about American manufacturing going overseas. It's not as simple as you think.
http://www.howtobuyamerican.com/content/db/b-db-autos.shtml The middle class is deteriorating in this country and we are blindly letting it slip away. I have owned American made vehicles as well as imports but for now on Ford and GM will take preference in my buying decisions. If you look at the window sticker, the final assembly isn't even considered in the domestic parts content. Assembly plants only employ around 2500 workers and it's just another loophole for import brands to beat the tariffs.
God bless America.
I like to add my 2 cents, Really I believe its crappy how auto makers are shafting customers for BS ways they design cars and trucks, For example: look at 3spd automatic transmission anything from 89 & earlier those trannys were basically bullet proof 200,000 miles least.. Now the 4 spd automatics crap out in even less then 200,000 miles. Its like their is no pride in building cars. I sure see now with alot of parts being made in 3rd world countrys the quality in auto parts are no to good. Now you buy something in made in the USA, Their is youre quality. Its just a shame on how goverments set the over taxed margens on peoples lively hoods.

Most domestics are not made in foreign countries. You should get your facts straight before posting false information.
God bless America.
YO cavaleer2002
was youre last post for me?

No. The auto transmissions in Hondas are well known for crapping out too. The point I'm trying to make if the US automakers get an undeserved bad rap while the imports get a free pass.
God bless America.
Ive talked to alot of mechanics about those honda automatic trannys, Some people dont know that, those honda's automatics need that honda transmission fluid, Just like in earily and late 80 dodges they need ATF3, If they use Dexon III the trannys screw up in shifting and down shifting. Even that honda's and toyota's VW's hold a resale value, Only reason why imports hold their value is they are a popular cars with people, Every where you look we see them.

Is that so, prove it.
Cavys and fires were made both in Mexico and canada. Ford trucks for the most part are assemblied in mexico. The ford cobra's are assembled in Mexico, etc... shall i go on?

thats kind of a hypocritical statement there. you ask him to prove it, yet you spit out lies all the time, so prove your facts to him
my car has made in canada stamped all over it...
GO PATS!!!
You can check easily to determine if your car is assembled in the USA. If the VIN starts with a 1, then it's assembled in USA, 2 is Canada, 3 is Mexico.
God bless America.

i know it was posted a while ago, and i know its kinda long... but still...
the only reason that imports keep gaining more and more market share is because of the whole hybrid thing... yea, domestic cars are kinda doin it too... but the way they are setting up the electric battery in the imports can cause more harm than good anyway... its been figured that over time they do about the same amount of pollution if not more (disposing of the batteries, and such) AND if you happen to get into an accident with any hybrid, outside of i think the escape, you cant have the jaws of life called in to get you out(god forbid it be that bad...), because of the fact that if the battery is punctured(so ive heard) it will cause SERIOUS HARM to anything and everything around it, and possibly even blow.
not meant to bash at all, because u cant lie with the figures, but you can die in your acidy firey burning ball of death... ill just stick with what cavaleer2002 said in this case...
and they are called domestics because they are made on the american continent... not just the country... again, not meant to bash AT ALL, just to try and clarify.

whatever tho, its all good in the end
