Sunroof Motor Replacement
Saturday, April 01, 2006 5:43 PM
I'm in a little bit of a situation here. The motor went out on my sunroof, so I took it out and found ITT Automotive printed on it. I've done some searching and found information about the company, but no way to contact them to get a replacement motor. Any ideas?

Also on the lable were the following numbers:
404 271 2269 (Phone number or part number?)
12V (Motor power)
27/96 (No clue)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Junkyard or dealer, don't waist your time on the motor manufacturer.

I'll talk to the dealer, but doubt they will be able to help since its aftermarket. Junkyard may be a possibility, but doubt they know what motor is in the sunroof.

It's aftermarket???

Go to a junkyard that you can pull the part urself. I personally don't really trust the peeps at my local junkyard to get me anything.

As for the manufacturer of the motor, Valeo bought out ITT (Rochester, NY) so the new motor may have a Valeo label on it. Try www.gmpartsdirect.com or the local dealer. With as much work that's involved with removing and reinstalling the motor I would get a new one.

God bless America.

Actually, there is about 5 minutes of work involved from what I experienced. Got the moon roof to slide forward all the way, but it won't put its ass end down. I'll check the Valeo thing...would be the crap out of a new sunroof, which I'm getting quoted tomarrow since the 5 mechanics/dealers I talked to said it was my only option.

Thanks for the infomration cavaleer2002 and all the others that chipped in.
