just wut it says trying to pop the ignition out of my car first i hear you turn it to ACC and push a pin in then to on and push a pin in... where exactly is this pin or how do i remove the ignition switch thanx
OK Brandon Schmidt : Here how the key lock cyl gets removed, First of all I would discconect youre neg lead to youre battery. ThenPut youre key into the ignition, Then turn the key to the run position, Then you will need place small flat head or suitable screw driver in a slot in bottom of the ignition plastic white housing while turning the key ignition cyl, After doing that the ignition key cyl should pull out of the cyl.

Yep, basically.
I remember it being a metal clip that needed puhed up but you could push it by hand.
Once you get looking at it, you should see the clip thing.

i have no idea what this clip is or how it comes out my hayes manual shows tons of more steps its quite confusing
i also noticed you have to turn it to the on position.. well i can go to on position but i cont go to "Crank" position thats whole whole reason i need to replace it to begin with
I've taken one out of a 96 sunfire and it was extremely easy. Takes about 3 seconds.
Go take some pics of your ignition in LOTS of different angles and I can point out the clip.

ok i got it man.. it was very easy once i found the clip..lol well the problem is now i "Think" it turns all the way foward so it could be a lot bigger problem then i once thought

but anyway where is the passlock harness so i can unplug it and try a different ignition? ill try one out of my other cavy. It seems like something inside beyond the lock cylinder locks up tho

i sprayed some lube in there dont know if it will help any but next step is to unplug passlock wires so i can connect diff. ignition
The ignition switch is in the column beyond the lock cylinder remove your plastic right behind your steering wheel and youll see it on the left hand side of steering wheel black box thats the ignition and it has a piece to turn try check that out .
well i ordered the actual ignition cylinder like 157.00 plus the 25.00 to get it cut and thats with the dealership discount usually about 250.00

hopefully it fixes it. ive taken it completly out it will not go all the way foward like its suppose to
If not, start delivering more pizzas LOL
ha ok "cav on nothing" whats it gonna be next week man?i dont s ee how u can talk @!#$ to me when i make more then ur ass anyway but i guess jealously is a pita
