Alright so lately my car has had a high idle, around 1500 rmps and its very unsteady. that has been the only thing wrong with it. But yesterday I turn on the car and it idled perfect, but the gauges in the cluster dont work and i took the car for a ride and it was lagging and sputtering real bad. It did this once before, does anyone know what can be causing my car to do this? Its a 02 z24, if anyone knows what it could possibly be please post, i appreciate it!!!
High idle is normally caused by a vacuum leak. See what vacuum is at idle, should be 19-21psi.

Well whatever it is, its also causing my gauges not to work.....?
Dude, pop the hood and listen for a hiss somewhere. Not too far fetched for a vacuum hose to fall off.
Doesn't seem like there is a leak of any kind............
Any trouble codes? If it's affecting your gauges I'd check for a bad ground. Somebody posted not too long about about idle/bad running problems and I think they had a bad ground. Not sure if it was the same kind of car or not though.
